In theatre medicine has never been so effective in saving soldiers lives. Now the real challenge facing medical forces is the effective utilisation of their health support systems and to deliver effective and responsive vital care. The technologies that back up front line medics have the potential to improve quality of care, reduce medical errors and prevent deaths.
Health Support Systems and Medical Logistics will look at the technologies and systems that have the potential to make a real difference to Combat Casualty Care and Medical Force Readiness:
- Discuss issues within the medical community with members from all the different military branches
- Understand medical technology, doctrine and operational demands with the wounded in-theatre
- Examine the performance of all the current technology available and the capability developments and software upgrades that are available for areas such as electronic health records and patient portals
- Assess the comparative strengths and weaknesses of supply chain logistics
- Develop and enhance simulation training and telemedicine for soldiers before and after deployment
