Missiles are indispensible in modern warfare, as it provides military with the ability to attack and defend from long distances. Due to its importance, militaries are constantly looking for new development for missile systems and technologies.

The performance of missile is heavily dependent on the design and its systems integration. Therefore, when it comes to designing a missile, engineers have to maintain a good balance between requirements and performance. Each missile is heavily driven by these six components, namely, size, drive, type, guidance systems, warhead, and its design. Engineers have to possess sufficient knowledge on these influencing components in order to acquire or develop missile systems.

Benefits of Attending
  • Understand the influencing drivers in missile design process
  • Capture the critical essence of trade-offs, methods and technologies in subsystems, aerodynamics, propulsion, and structure sizing.
  • Gain understanding on launch platform-missile integration.
  • Understanding concept of missile robustness, lethality, accuracy, observables, survivability, reliability, and its cost considerations
  • Understanding the impact of launch platform integration on tactical guided weapon design
  • Appreciating critical aspect of sizing for enhanced maneuverability
  • Understanding best practices to extend missile durability
  • Learning lessons learned in tactical weapon development.
  • Among many others key course objectives!
