Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Systems (UUV / AUV)

Observation of  outer maritime borders, protecting the EEZ (exclusive economic zone) and last not but least, tasks involved in warding off danger are new tasks of modern vessel traffic management (VTM) systems by ATLAS ELEKTRONIK.

ATLAS also has systems for underwater monitoring. Permanently installed port monitoring sonars detect moving objects, for example divers, and can be used to control the underwater hulls of incoming and outgoing traffic. Remote controlled underwater vehicles or AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) are used as mobile sensor units or to neutralise dangerous substances and objects. Integrated in an information network, this provides the user with a constantly updated status picture. It is also possible to include other sensors such as TV cameras or LLLTV (Low Light Level TV) systems without any problems.

Minehunting with employment of unmanned underwater vehicles (ROV/AUV) is in practice over the years. Remote-controlled and in the future autonomously operating underwater vehicles with the ability to detect and to clear mines can be carried out on almost every platform.
