Top military ASW meeting in London in December , Oct 2010

The world’s ASW experts and military commanders are meeting in London in December for the largest conference of its kind with top representatives attending from more than 30 countries including Norway, Italy, Portugal, UK, USA, Australia, The Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.

The Anti-Submarine Warfare conference and exhibition is a totally unique gathering of both submarine and anti-submarine experts from around the globe, meeting to discuss the latest developments, practices and threats experienced to the maritime community.  National procurements agencies, R&D specialists, operational commanders and concept and doctrine policy makers will spend two days discussing, debating and deciding on the future of ASW.

According to Rear Admiral Chris Parry, Former Director General, Development, Concepts and Doctrine, UK MOD and ASW Conference Chairman, “ASW techniques, training and technologies continue to fall behind those required to deal with the levels of emerging threat in the face of more immediate Defence and Security priorities.”

Over 20 ground breaking speakers from leading organisations such as NURC, Arctic Submarine Laboratory, Maritime Component Command, NATO COE Naval Mine Warfare, Norwegian Naval Training Establishment and Portuguese Navy will share their experience on a range of subjects from current research and development projects through manufacturing challenges and the experience of front line commanders at sea.

  • Captain William Martin, Naval Advisor, Australian High Commission, UK
